A fascinating look at Sabine's recent experience at the European Parliament in Brussels. The meeting led Sabine to conclude that nurses must be involved with the decision making that shapes our healthcare systems!
After all, it is nurses who are on the front lines and who understand exactly what is happening on the ground. Sabine writes:
"We need to be at the tables where decisions are made. We need to speak up, share our expertise and challenge decisions when they do not reflect the reality of patient care. We need to make sure that politicians understand what nursing really means – not only from statistics and reports, but from the perspective of the people who are there every day, caring for patients, families, and communities."
