New Language Course for Midwives: Clinical Handover and Ward Rounds! 


We are delighted to announce that we have written a brand new language course for midwives!


ENGLISH FOR MIDWIVES: CLINICAL HANDOVER AND WARD ROUNDS 


This workshop is designed to support midwives, gynaecologists, and obstetricians who wish to work abroad. It focuses on developing effective communication skills among healthcare professionals in key clinical situations.


Students of this workshop will learn how to deliver clear and accurate clinical handovers and communicate confidently during ward rounds as well on the telephone in English. 


The workshop aims to improve the language skills of non-native English-speaking midwives and doctors, particularly when discussing patient care. By enhancing both spoken and written communication, healthcare professionals will be better prepared to work in international healthcare settings.


Workshop Agenda: 


  •  Admission 

  • SBAR - Communication Techniques for: 

  • Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH)

  • Gestational Diabetes

  • Pre-Eclampsia

  • Anaemia

  • Miscarriage, Ectopic Pregnancy, Placenta Praevia, Placenta Abruption

  • Infections in Pregnancy = UTI, Group B Strep, TORCH Infection

  • Obstetric Haemorrhage

This workshop will be taught for the first time on 22.09.2026 at Judith Kulesza Hebammenoraxis 37 in Düsseldorf / Online.
